You can also receive money into your PayPal account just by giving out your PayPal email address to the sender.
With that said, let’s move on.

Alternatively, you can type paypal.com/ls/ in your browser.

Personal accounts are only use to make payments, but can’t receive payments.
But in our case, since we will most likely be receiving payments, we will choose the Basiness account.
3. Fill in your personal and business details
The next step is to fill in your details as shown in the image below;
- Your First Name and Last name should be what’s on your official ID. This will be of great help should any verification be needed in the future.
- For the Business name, just come up with a name and use. If you have an actual Business, then just use it.
- Click on the Lesotho flag, change it to Ghana, and enter your Mobile number. It should be in the format; 233233547600
- Enter 00233 for the postal code
- Enter your Business address if you have one. Otherwise, use your personal address again.
- Pick US Dollar as the currency as it is the most widely used
- Click Agree and Continue.
4. Confirm your email address
PayPal is going to send a confirmation email to you in a minute or two. This is the last step that gets your account live.
When you click on the confirmation link in your mail, you will be sent to the PayPal login page again to enter your password.
Congratulations! You have a PayPal account in Ghana now.
5. Link Credit Card, debit card or Bank Account to verify your PayPal account
Now, in other to remove limits on the amount of money you can receive or send through your PayPal account, you will need to link either a credit card or a bank account.
For the Method we used in this post, you can only link your credit or debit card. If you don’t have a credit or debit card, i will recommend the UBA Africard.
Which works perfectly.
This is how you link your credit or debit card;
- Log in to your PayPal account
- Go to payments in the menu
- Click on link card
- Enter you card details to link
Note that you need to have a minimum of about $2 in your account.
This is because PayPal will deduct an amount of $1.95 from your account to confirm that it’s active.
Don’t worry, this amount will be refunded once your card is verified.
You will receive a code through your bank statement, which would be used to verify your card once you receive it.
Takes 1-7 business days.
